The Peter Farin Travel Award (between $500 and $1,500) is open to any trainee (undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral, or veterinary student) who plans to attend the IETS annual meeting. All applications must be submitted through the IETS online awards site. http://www.iets.org/awards/lognom.asp

If this is your first visit to the nominator site, you will need to create a new nominator account. If you have been a nominator in the past, please enter your login and password and proceed to the nominator page.

The online application form should include the following information:

  • Letter of intent containing
    • A statement about your research interest and the impact that your research could have on the field,
    • The educational advantage of attending the IETS annual conference,
    • Your career path, and
    • How you plan to fund the trip to the IETS annual conference, in addition to the $500 to $1,500 award;
  • Letter of support from advisor or mentor; and
  • CV or résumé, and
  • Abstract: Please submit the same abstract that you submitted for the IETS Annual Conference

The selected trainees will each make a 3-minute thesis presentation using only one slide to the membership during the annual conference meeting.

If you are selected, you may be asked to participate as a session co-chair for one of the annual conference sessions.

Finalists of the Student Competition will not be eligible to be awarded the Peter Farin Trainee Travel Award.

Review process:
Application submission deadline is July 20.

Review process will be completed by August 30, and winners will be notified by week of September 1.

Applications missing any of the required documents will not be considered.
