San Diego enjoys beautiful weather year round with an average daily temperature of 70.5º (21.4 degrees Celsius). A marked feature of the climate is the wide variation in temperature within short distances due to the topography of the land. You can enjoy coastal, mountain and desert environments all in the space of one day.

 

In January, average daytime temperatures are around 65°F, dipping to about 48°F at night.  Humidity should be in the low 60% range.  January is the rainy season in San Diego, so bring an umbrella or raincoat, although rain is usually light and intermittent and the sun shines 72% of the time.
