Requirements for Traveling to Panama

To enjoy your trip to Panama, you must comply with the following documents and regulations:

  • A valid passport that’s valid for at least six months after your entry date.
  • A return ticket to your country of origin or the next destination to be visited.
  • Proof of economic solvency of a minimum of USD 500.00 in cash, credit card, bank reference, work letter, or traveler’s checks.
  • The address of your place of accommodation and the purpose of your trip.
  • Some nationalities will need to present an authorized visa before visiting Panama. We recommend connecting with the Consulate of Panama in your country for more information. For any other inquiries, visit the National Migration Service of Panama website or consult with your airline.
  • Vaccines for Yellow fever are mandatory for anyone traveling from Brazil. You must present the international vaccination certificate issued by Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (ANVISA) carried out at least 10 days before arrival.
    • Exceptions:
      • Children under 1 year of age and adults over 60 years of age.
      • Travelers in transit in Brazil without leaving transit zones.
      • Holders of a contraindication certificate for medical reasons.

Climate

January falls during Panama’s dry season, resulting in mostly sunny days and temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C (75–85°F), making it ideal for outdoor activities. January is one of the best months to visit Panama, with pleasant weather and minimal rain.

Indoors, the air conditioner temperature ranges between 19°C to 23°C (66–73°F), so we recommend bringing a jacket.
